1. Distance

This is chargeable in the amount of the total moving cost. The more space your goods will take in the warehouse, the higher will be the moving cost.

6. Insurance

Though it is an optional service, but it is always a better option in case of long-distance moves to ensure the safety of goods while in transit. It allows you to demand compensation in case your goods get damaged or misplaced. The insurance is equal to 3% of the total declared value of your goods.

7. Physical Activity

The moving cost is dependent on the physical efforts employed by the manpower to pack and load the goods in the transport vehicle. The more the physical activity, the more will be the packers and movers Rates.

8. Transportation vehicle:

For relocation purposes, there are two kinds of vehicles used by the domestic packers and movers in India.

• Shared truck: This vehicle will be used by more than one customer of the moving company. The price charged by the packers and movers for such vehicle will be much more less as the cost of transportation will be divided among their customers.

• Dedicated truck: This kind of a transportation vehicle is much more expensive than the shared ones as it will be solely used in your relocation process. Though the delivery time is faster, but it will eventually hike the prices.

9. Time of shifting

This factor also affects the moving cost to a considerable amount. In case you wish to relocate on weekends, then this cost will much higher as compared to the weekdays due to the high demand of such services on Saturdays and Sundays. Moreover, if you like to opt for a faster relocation process without complying with the rules for the entry commercial vehicle in another state, then the moving cost will include the amount of challan paid by the moving company.

10. Taxes

The moving cost will comprise of the following taxes –

• Toll Tax & Octroi (in case of interstate relocation)

11. Tips

This is optional and will not be included in the final invoice issued by the packers and movers.

12. Experience of company

Moving companies with more years of experience usually charge more as compared to the new ones. The years of experience explains their expertise in their job perfection and build more trust in the minds of the people. So, if you are opting for a popular moving company with good years of experience, then you might have to a larger sum as compared to the going for the smaller ones.

13. Additional services

The services related to installation and uninstalling of AC, mounting of television on the wall, geyser installation, unpacking, disassembly, assembly, arrangement of items in the new home, etc. will be chargeable to the moving cost.
